The Inner Chamber is the second plate from The Archive of Azar, created from an assortment of hand painted papers, mono prints, motifs and textures which were then digitally composed to form a more intricate and architectural whole.
There is something almost ceremonial about this piece — a sense of entering further in, towards something jewel like and sacred held at its centre.

The Archive of Azar Plate No. III
The Nocturnal Garden began, like the other pieces in the Archive, with fragments of my own hand-painted papers — layers of colour, texture and pattern created intuitively by hand before being scanned and digitally composed.
As the piece developed, unexpected forms began to emerge: botanical shapes and at its heart, a moth that appeared almost entirely of its own accord, like a mysterious visitor of an imagined garden that comes alive after dark.
Rich earth tones, flashes of turquoise and blue and an intricate patterned border give the finished piece a feeling of something discovered — an ornamental fragment carrying the traces of a place and story i can only imagine.
